Bridges Training

Bridges Training

Bridges is a research-based dyslexia intervention for students ages 7 and older, developed by the Luke Waites Center for Dyslexia and Learning Disorders at Scottish Rite for Children. This two-year program is based on the nationally recognized Take Flight curriculum and is approved by the Texas Education Agency.

Bridges combines live instruction from a certified teacher with a virtual co-teacher, Ms. Hallie, who delivers the most complex components of dyslexia instruction, including precise letter-sound relationships and correct mouth and facial movements. This model ensures consistent, accurate instruction while allowing students to progress at an appropriate pace.

Student Instruction Model

Students receive instruction through one of the following schedules:

  • 60-minute lessons, four days per week, or
  • 45-minute lessons, five days per week

Teachers deliver approximately three-quarters of each lesson using scripted materials, while Ms. Hallie co-teaches for 15–20 minutes of each session.
